UCM Falls in Home Opener

The University of Central Missouri Mules faced the Washburn Ichabods in the Mules home opener Thurs Sept. 6. After facing Pittsburg State in the season opener and losing 21-10, the Mules were looking to come home with their first win of the season at home. The only thing standing in their way was Washburn riding high after their 45-3 win over the Lincoln University Blue Tigers in the Ichabod’s season opener in front of their home fans
While the Mules lost the coin flip, Washburn elected to kick, giving the Mules the first chance to strike. It did not take them long to do just that. A 16-yard-run from Xavier Jackson to kick off the game set UCM to a quick series of plays to send them down the field. Double digit receptions from Jack Pospisil and Arkell Smith led them down the field for UCM quarterback Cedric Case to punch in the first touchdown of the game with a one yard run. Samuel Knowlton kicked the extra point leading the Mules 7-0.

Best Buds is the first album by Mom Jeans. and is one of my favorite albums of all time. Best Buds is the album that got me into one of my favorite genres, Midwest Emo. I love this album which is why it is the second album that I am covering in my “Masterpieces with Meade” series.
Best Buds was released in July 2016 and was the first album by then-up-and-coming band Mom Jeans. The founding members, singer Eric Butler and guitarist Austin Carango, met while at UC Berkley and formed the band to release the acoustic Spring Demo EP in May of 2014 which was then later worked into the self-titled EP. Shortly after that release, the other two members, guitarist Bart Thompson and bassist Sam Kless, joined the band with Austin moving to drums.

Thriller is the sixth album by the king of pop, Michael Jackson. Thriller is the best selling non-compilation album of all time. The album is 34 times platinum which is just an incomprehensible amount, that is enough for every citizen of the state of Texas and 4 million extras. While like almost everyone else in the world, I had heard of Thriller, but I had never listened to the album in full. I have heard a majority of the songs, but I felt like I needed to hear the album in full. That is the reason why Thriller is the second album in my Classics with Carson series.
This album is phenomenal which I fully expected. Thriller is perfect from front to back. In my research around this album, I saw that Michael had said in an interview that he wanted to make an album where “every song was killer” and he surpassed even that mark. The album is filled with staple songs for every setting and mood, it fits every situation.
